Ubay marks 168th Founding Anniversary

UBAY. A three-day affair will usher the celebration of the 168th Founding Anniversary of this municipality to commence on Tuesday with the theme: “Padayon Bol-anon, UBAY Palamboon.”

The State of the Municipal Address (SOMA) of Mayor Galicano E. Atup will highlight the first day commemoration to be followed by the Oath-Taking of the new set of officers of the Ubay Tourism Council. The formal turn-over of Projects from PROCESS BOHOL will precede the giving of Recognition to successful Ubayanons.

Second district representative Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado, Governor Edgar M. Chatto and Vice Governor Concepcion Lim are expected to deliver their respective messages.

The public will have the chance to see the Tribu Ubayanon Sandugo 2015, the group that represented Ubay during the recent Bohol Sandugo in Tagbilaran City, to be presented in the afternoon to be followed by the Battle of Elementary and High School Drum and Bugle Corps at the oval ground. In the evening, a bevy of young beauties, candidate for the Miss Tourism Search will be seen at the gymnasium.

On the second day affair, the Alturas Group of Companies will hold a Job Fair and Medical Mission in cooperation with the LGU and the Rotary Club of Ubay. Simultaneously, are the Mangrove Planting and Tour at Sinandigan Mangrove Reforestation and the Mini Four Wheel Drive Car Racing at the UCES School stage. The Clash of Dance and Disco is at stake in the evening.

Championship games for the basketball and volleyball will be played in the morning of the third day event while horse race competition and Pig Catching Larong Pinoy can be seen in the afternoon plus a motorcade of the Ms. Tourism 2015 and her escort. The climax of the celebration is the fireworks display early in the evening following the Zumba.
