2ND DIST. 10 mayors ror reelection; 2 unopposed

Ten of the 14 town mayors in Bohol’s Second District bids for a fresh mandate in the May 9 elections  while Danao and Getafe will settle for an early win, three months before the polls.

Former Mayor Thomas Louis Gonzaga of Danao and Getafe’s Shaun Casey Camacho runs unopposed, a feat that is duplicated by one in the first district and another in the third district.

Aiming for new mandates in the upcoming polls three months from now are Clarin Mayor Allen Rey Piezas, Inabanga Mayor Josephine Socorro Jumamoy, Buenavista’s Ronal Lowell Tirol, Getafes Mayor Camacho, Talibon’s Restituto Auxtero, Trinidad;s Judith Cajes Ubay’s Galicano Atup, Dagohoy’s Sofronio Apat, San Isidro’s Jacinto Naraga and Sagbayan’s Ricardo Suarez.


Bien Unido on the other hand would have the voters divided, with four new candidates all pitching in for the win.

Running for mayor in Bohol’s youngest town are Gisela B. Boniel (NPC), Jesus Esua Jr., Verlito Paredes and Jocelyn Villarias (LP).

In vote-rich towns of Talibon and Ubay, each have three candidates aiming for the top seat.

Talibon has got re-electionist Restituto Auxtero (LP), Carlito Evangelista Sr., (NPC) and Epifanio Quimson (UNA).

In Ubay, re-electionist Galicano Atup (LP) is now challenged by Danilo Mendez (Independent) and Constantino Reyes (NPC).

Meanwhile, Carlos P. Garcia and San Miguel towns will have a stiff competition for the votes. Running for new mayor in CPG are Nestor Abad (NPC) and Fernando Boyboy (LP), while San Miguel opens a new seat for Nunila Pinat (LP) and Jonathan Reyes (NPC), former vice mayor.

Mayor Piezas (LP) of Clarin meets Eugeniano Ibarra (UNA), Inabangas Mayor Jumamoy meets Concepcion Muneses while Buenavista’s Mayor Tirol (UNA) will fight it out with Roseller Banes (LP).

For Trinidad, Mayor Judith Cajes will have former mayor Filadelfo Garcia (PMP) as contender, Dagohoy’s Sofronio Apat Sr.,(NPC) meets Roel lagroma (LP), San Isidro has Mayor Naraga (NPC) pitted against Doxon Asoy (LP) and Sagbayan’s Mayor Suarez meeting former mayor Jimmy Torrefranca.
