Bus passanger caught with shabu by seatmate cop

Luck was not on the side of this drug suspect.

A passenger of a Southern Star bus is now in the custody of authorities after a pack of suspected shabu accidentally fell off his pocket right under the very nose of a police officer.

Dennis Perocho, 24, single and a resident of Candijay was on board the said bus bound for Ubay on Monday morning, June 27, 2016.

The pack of shabu was concealed in the hip pocket of Perecho’s trousers and accidentally fell off after the suspect tried to pull something out of the pocket.

Police Officer lll (PO3) Romeo Golosino of the Provincial Public Safety Company, who was seated right beside Perocho immediately confronted the suspect and when frisked yielded another pack of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Golosino was on his way to appear in a court hearing before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 50 in Loay.

Perocho, a security guard of the Bohol Ice Plant in Tagbilaran City, is now facing charges for possession of dangerous drugs, a violation of section 11, article ll of RA 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, Francisco Indo, 38, single and a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Anislag, Corella is now a fugitive from justice after successfully eluding a police raiding team under cover of darkness.

Indo is now facing charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs after a team of police officers of the Corella Police Station found five packs of shabu weighing 0.14 grams in his residence.

Police gave chase but called off the pursuit because the place was in darkness.

The raid was carried out on the strength of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Suceso Arcamo, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 47 in Tagbilaran City.

Police Inspector Edgar Chan, chief of the Corella Police Station told DYRD Balita that the suspect was in the watch list of drug personalities in the locality. (Chito M. Visarra with reports from Willie Maestrado)
