As their need increases, the barangay captains of the 1,109 barangays (villages) called on the provincial government of Bohol to increase their share in the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) of the province.

The Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas (Bohol Chapter) led by its president, Ex-officio Board Member Romulo Cepedoza, adopted a resolution “en masse” requesting Governor Edgar Chatto to double their financial assistance from P10 million to P20 million.

According to figures from the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) of the PGB, the share of the province of the IRA amounted to P1,549,241,712.00 this year, an increase of P136,718,592 million against the 2015 allotment of P1,412,523,120.00.

With the IRA increase this year, the Liga ng mga Barangay wants a bigger share as the last increase they enjoyed was during the term of the late Governor Erico Aumentado which grew from P5M to the present P10M.
