The intensified drive against illegal drugs has been yielding hundreds of grams of shabu in the province alone which has raised questions on where the confiscated contraband goes.

To douse speculations that the police have been recycling drugs seized in anti-drug operations, the Regional Trial Court Branch 2 in Tagbilaran City issued an order to have 41.31 grams of shabu estimated to be worth P120,000 dissolved this week.

Meanwhile, as directed by Judge Jennifer Marcos during an ocular inspection, authorities also dissolved shabu weighing 29.64 grams which were confiscated from alleged pusher Dodong Borja.

They also dissolved a drug haul of 11.67 grams seized from drug suspects Cesar Pamaong, Moises Marcellana and Rogelio Angcog.

According to SPO2 Florentino Diola of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) crime laboratory, they only kept enough shabu to be used as evidence in the ongoing cases of the suspects.

Starting July 1, President Rodrigo Duterte’s first day in office, until Sept 21, the BPPO seized a total of 747.41 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P8,819,450. (Willie Maestrado)
