The firearm seized from an alleged aide of Visayas drug lord Kerwin Espinosa in Bohol was stolen from its cop owner, said Balilihan police chief Senior Insp. Dennis Lomor.

According to Lomor, PO1 Randy Itong’s .45 caliber pistol was stolen then purportedly sold to alleged pusher Victor Aguilar, a resident of Barangay Sagasa, Balilihan.

Itong, a Balilihan policeman, reported his gun stolen as indicated by a police blotter entry dated April 17, 2015, added Lomor.

Itong found out that his gun ended up with Aguilar through a Facebook post of radio broadcaster Nestor Daarol.

Daarol featured the gun’s photo and serial number BA 1040-08-246 which matched that of Itong’s stolen gun.

Aguilar was arrested together with Marlowe Dano by National Bureau of Investigation agents in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday last week.

Both suspects who yielded shabu worth P300,000 are believed to be members of Espinosa’s drug ring.

President Rodrigo Duterte previously blamed Espinosa and his father Rolando Espinosa for the proliferation of illegal drugs in Bohol. Both are now in the custody of law enforcers. (Allen Doydora)
