Former Maribojoc mayor and now Cabinet Sec. Leoncio Evasco urged Boholanos to report drug-linked officials in Bohol as part of the national government’s continued crackdown on the illegal drug trade.
According to Evasco, those who have direct knowledge on illegal drug activities in their areas are encouraged to submit lists of the alleged drug personalities to station DYRD which will relay the report to the secretary’s office.
Evasco said that he will then personally submit the report to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the office of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The official noted that enlisting the aid of residents in the war against drugs is among measures seen to speed up the eradication of illegal drug activities in Bohol and the rest of the country.
However, Evasco appealed to Boholanos to seriously take the reporting process and not have it tainted with politics.
He also urged the public to report businessmen and even those in the religious sector who are involved in the drug trade.
Residents in towns are likely to be privy to the illegal drug activities going on in their respective areas including who protects narcotics trade in their location, Evasco added.(Allen Doydora)
