3 men nabbed for drugs in PNP anti-illegal gambling ops

The Philippine National Police’s anti-drug operations may have been suspended but on Saturday, chance led to the arrest of three suspected drug users by policemen in Tubigon.

The three suspects were allegedly caught in the act of engaging in a pot session during an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay Pooc Occidental, Tubigon on Saturday evening.

Joint operatives of the Tubigon Police Station and the Regional Public Safety Battalion raided the area at 7 p.m. after receiving a report from a concerned citizen on alleged illegal gambling activities.

Police identified the suspects as Reneboy Burlat, 51-year-old resident of Siquijor, and Tubigon residents Vedasto J. Corsiga, 57, and Neil Bryan T. Naquila, 28.

 ADVERTISEMENT 

The suspects were allegedly caught in possession of four packets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.

They are currently detained at the Tubigon lock-up jail while authorities prepare to file charges against them for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Rey Tutas and Allen Doydora)
