Bohol police intelligence officers on Tuesday arrested in Tagbilaran City a man and a woman who were allegedly caught selling illegal drugs which were smuggled in from Mindanao.

The suspects, Renedette Galoso, 27, and John Rey Rosalem, 32, were in possession of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P54,000, police said.

Galoso, a resident of Brgy. Cabawan, Tagbilaran City, was reportedly spotted selling shabu by policemen of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) which immediately set up a buy-bust against the suspect.

During the operation, a PIB poseur-buyer was sold shabu worth P500 by Galoso who was able to run after noticing that she transacted with a police officer.

However, she was immediately subdued by operatives near J.A. Clarin Street where police also caught Rosalem.

Galoso was allegedly caught in possession of three large packs with suspected shabu residue while Rosalem had with him seven packets and a large pack of shabu.

According to PIB officer Sr. Insp. Jojit Mananquil, Galoso had previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang but continued to conduct illegal drug operations.

On March 24, 40 grams of shabu which were also reportedly sourced from provinces in Mindanao were seized by the PIB in Tagbilaran City.

The bulk of suspected shabu were confiscated from Elcid “Papo” Sepe, 22, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted near the suspect’s residence in Brgy. Dampas, Tagbilaran City. (W. Maetsrado)
