A drug personality who had previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang was arrested by police in a drug buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City.

The suspect, Virgil “Wowo” Castro, a resident of Espuelas Ext., Poblacion 3 in Tagbilaran City, was allegedly caught in the act of selling shabu to an undercover cop at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A police team led by Erano Regidor immediately collared Castro following the transaction wherein he handed over shabu in exchange for P500.

According to Regidor, eight more packets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were found in the possession of the suspect after he was searched by operatives.

The confiscated drugs were weighed at 1.5 grams and had an estimated street value of P10,000, police said.

Castro had surrendered to authorities under Oplan Tokhang and officially vowed to end involvement in the illegal drug trade.

However, the suspect continued to sell illegal drugs following his surrender based on monitoring operations of the police, said Regidor.

Charges for possession and sale of illegal drugs are set to be filed against Castro. (Weli Maestrado)
