It is now official.

Philippine Airlines will be having a daily direct flight from Incheon, Seoul Korea to this capital city starting June 22 this year.

During the media launch held at Bellevue Resort in Panglao last night, Atty Siegfred Mison, PAL’s senior vice president  for legal, corp communication assured the Boholanos of its scheduled maiden flight on June 22 to push through as earlier announced. 

He said this direct flight  from Korea to Tagbilaran City is a breakthrough considering that Tagbilaran City is just one of the very few cities in the country which has opened a direct flight abroad.

Reyani Romano, area head, Visayas sales and service also graced the media launching event last night.

Acting Prov’l Admiistrator Boiser who represented Gov. Edgar Chatto welcomed the the official launching of the direct flight while he mentioned of the governor’s efforts to finally start this flight with PAL’s bullish move to further promote Bohol as a prime tourist destination in the country

City Mayor Baba Yap graced last night’s event which was attended by the tourism stakeholders here, composed of resort, hotel owners, tour operators, the business leaders and the media. Also present were Engr. Al and Joy Uy of the local PAL agency, Dr. Bobong Yap of the Filipino-Chinese community, Atty, Lucas Nunag , chair of the Provl Tourism Council, Romel Gonzales, Bellevue manager and president of the Bohol Associaiton of Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants (BAHRR) and City Administrator Edi Borja,.

Emma Casenas, PAL Bohol manager told the Chronicle that the flight will leave Incheon International Airport at 2:30am, arriving Tagbilaran at 6:00am, The plane leaves Tagbilaran Airport at 6:40am for Clark. The return flight will leave Clark for Tagbilaran at 3:00pm then departs Tagbilaran back to Incheon at 5:20pm.  Promo fair for a roundtrip ticket is sold at $450.
