Lloyd Lancer Gonzaga escorted by Supt. Rene Kyamko arrives at the Regional Trial Court Branch 3 in Tagbilaran City which issued an arrest warrant against him for three counts of attempted murder.

The alleged mastermind and gunman in the killing of Atty. Mia Mascariñas-Green arrived in Tagbilaran City on board a fastcraft on Monday afternoon after he was taken from Davao City to Cebu City by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) earlier on the same day.

Lloyd Lancer Gonzaga was presented before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 3 in Tagbilaran City which issued an arrest warrant against him for attempted murder, said police Supt. Rene Kyamko, chief of the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch in Bohol.

The same court issued a commitment order for the detention of Gonzaga at the Tagbilaran City Jail, Kyamko told the Chronicle on Monday.

“After arriving from Cebu, he was immediately taken to RTC Branch 3 to return his warrant of arrest. We turned him over to the jail at around 6:30 p.m.,” said Kyamko in Cebuano.

However, only the said warrant was returned to its issuing court as authorities were not able to take Gonzaga to RTC Branch 1 and 48 due to time constraints, he added.

RTC Branch 1 through Judge Lindecita Arcamo and RTC Branch 48 through Judge Jorge Cabalit issued arrest warrants against Gonzaga for murder and illegal possession of firearms and explosives, respectively.

“We will be trying to return the [arrest warrants] to branch 1 for murder and illegal possession in branch 48 tomorrow,” he said.

Prior to his arrival at the Tagbilaran City pier, Gonzaga was taken to the CIDG 7 headquarters in Cebu City for proper documentation and a medical checkup.

He was flown early on the same day from Davao City where he was detained since Friday affter he was arrested.

Gonzaga was collared at 3 p.m. Friday at an upscale subdivision in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City after being hunted down by authorities for four months.
