A 21-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot after slamming straight into an incoming ambulance near the National Irrigation Administration office along JA Clarin Street, Tagbilaran CIty at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities identified the fatality as Santos Namoc Jr., a resident of Barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City.

Namoc reportedly sustained severe injuries to his head causing his instantaneous death.

Based on initial police report, Namoc attempted to overtake another vehicle but was unable to return to his lane on time.

This led to a head on collision between the victim’s motorcycle and the ambulance of Alicia town which was about to pick up a patient.

The incident compounded the pile up of vehicles headed toward Balilihan and back to Tagbilaran City from the said municipality which was celebrating its town fiesta.

It caused severe traffic congestion for several minutes, reports said. (AD)
