Separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in Tagbilaran City by police forces and elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) hauled over P300-thousand worth of shabu in a week.

The operation in barangay Tiptip at around 3 p.m. on July 12 proved interesting as the “bulto” or large pack of shabu worth around P53,000 was only sold at P5,000.

Agents of PDEA-Bohol confiscated the “bulto” pack of shabu from a certain Joselito Cagoco Minion during the buy-bust operation at Salazar St. in barangay Tiptip, Tagbilaran City.

Earlier at around 12:20 p.m. of the same day, the PDEA team also arrested four personalities in their watchlist during a separate buy-bust operation at corner J. Borja and Sikatuna Sts. of Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City.

The PDEA team confiscated two large packs of shabu in large granules from Gorgonio Estorosas Jr. and Ronnel Rabino worth P55,000, aside from the small sachet handed to the poseur-buyer in exchange of P500.

The PDEA team also confiscated from them the 500-peso bill used as marked money.

Arrested together with them were Marvin Gallo who yielded two small sachets of shabu, and Aries Gabuya who yielded two small sachets of shabu and rolled tin foils and disposable lighters.

The biggest haul last week came two days later when elements of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a suspected drug dealer from Mandaue City, Cebu who yielded 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P177,000.

 PSInsp. Eraño Regidor identified the arrested person as one Dominador Bartolata, a 40-year-old resident of barangay Basak, Mandaue City.

The CDEU caught Bartolata handing a sachet of shabu after receiving P500 from the poseur-buyer during the buy-bust operation at 1:50 p.m. on July 14 near the apartment Bartolata is renting in Purok 1 of barangay San Isidro, Tagbilaran City

When Regidor’s team frisked Bartolata, they found one big pack, one medium pack and eleven small packs of shabu- -all estimated to weigh 15 grams with street value of P 177,000- -along with some drug paraphernalia in his possession.

On July 11, the CDEU also arrested one Richard Pamaong, also known as Janjan, a drug personality who earlier surrendered to authorities in the town of Loon through Oplan Tokhang, in a buy-bust operation.

Pamaong, a 28-year-old resident at Rizal St. in Purok 8 of barangay Cogon, yielded five small sachets of shabu- -of them was the subject of the buy-bust operation and the four other sachets of shabu were confiscated from his possession when the cops frisked him.

During the buy-bust operation, the poseur-buyer successfully bought a sachet of shabu from Pamaong using the marked money of P200.

The day before, the CDEU also arrested another Oplan Tokhang yielder, identified as one Albert Ano, a28-year-old resident in Purok 7 of Poblacion 2.

The buy-bust team caught Ano handing a sachet of shabu to the poseur-buyer upon receiving the marked money amounting P300 during the transaction at Gallares St.

The buy-bust team confiscated five packs of shabu from Ano with estimated weight of 1.2 grams and estimated street value of P15,700.

  In Baclayon, elements of PDEA-Bohol and the municipal police team led by PSInsp. Jesus Daplin arrested one Genes Olaso in a buy-bust operation at around10:30 p.m. on July 15 in barangay San Isidro.

The 43-year-old Olaso yielded nine sachets of shabu, the buy-bust money, and the cellphone he used for the transaction.

Also on July 15, at around 3 p.m., a team from the Inabanga Police Station led by PCInsp. Gaylord Tamayo arrested one Warren Torrefranca, a 27-year-old resident of barangay Liloan Sur in the municipality.

During the buy-bust operation conducted in barangay Liloan Sur, the composite team from PDEA and municipal police confiscated four sachets of shabu from Torrefranca, in addition to the small sachet of shabu that he sold to the poseur-buyer at P300.(with reports from Weli Maestrado)
