An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was found dead in a suspected suicide on Sunday just several days after arriving from her place of employment in Dubai.

Authorities identified the fatality as Gina Baura, a 41-year-old married resident of Barangay Ubujan in Tubigon.

Based on Tubigon police investigation, Baura took her own life at around 12 p.m. inside a room at her residence in said village.

The victim allegedly used a knife to slit her own throat leading to her death.

Police said that Baura was still rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

There were no indications of foul play in the death of Baura, police added.

Relatives of Baura told authorities that the victim was suffering from depression in relation to her employment.

However, they did not specify the cause of her depression but noted that the victim was nursing an illness while she was working in Dubai.
