A lifeless body of a 67-year-old man was found floating underneath a small bridge in Sitio Cantaon, Barangay Baogo in Inabanga at past 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Inabanga police identified the victim as Saturnino Torrefiel, a resident of the said sitio.

Based on their investigation, police indicated that Torrefiel was last seen alive at past 6 p.m. on Monday.

He was with his neighbor Isidro Celerian, authorities said.

According to witnesses, both Torrefiel and Celerian were drunk when they were last sighted together.

For his part, Celerian said that he parted ways with Torrefiel near a bridge and claimed he had no knowledge on the victim’s movements after.

Torriefel’s remains was then seen floating beneath the said bridge the following day.

He reportedly sustained a wound in his forehead.

However, police have yet to determine whether there was foul play involved in the incident and to pinpoint the cause of Torrefiel’s death.

Investigation on the circumstances surrounding the victim’s passing is still ongoing while his remains was taken to the Inanabanga Funeral Homes. (A. Doydora)
