A new police officer has been tasked to lead the Talibon Police Station.

Earlier this month, Chief Insp. Franco Oriol of Ormoc City in Leyte took over as the commander of the Talibon police.

He replaced Sr. Inspector Norman Nuez who started to undergo the Public Safety Officers Advance Course at the police’s regional training center in Barangay Jugan, Consolacion, Cebu.

Nuez was the police chief of Talibon for over a year after he replaced Senior Inspector Eduard Sanchez.

Meanwhile, Oriol vowed to continue projects started by Nuez and to sustain the town’s anti-iilegal drug campaign.

Oriol was officially placed in charge of the Talibon police following a turnover ceremony on August 7 in the municipality led by Mayor Restituto Auztero.

Talibon’s new police chief has been assigned in various police stations in Cebu including the Special Weapons and Tactics unit and Homicide Section of the Mandaue City Police Office.

He was also deployed in Consolacion, San Remegio, Minglanila, and prior to his assignment in Talibon, in Liloan. (R. Tutas)
