A 70-year-old American national allegedly attempted to stab a Belgian man inside his apartment in Barangay Dao in Tagbilaran City causing minor injuries to both men.
In his report to police victim Danny Paessens, 55, said that his neighbor, knife-wielding Peter Finn, barged into his apartment unit at around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday.
According to Paessens, Finn suddenly tried to stab him without provocation but he was able to evade the attack.
However, he suffered cuts on his knees as he fell on the floor.
Meanwhile, Finn sustained a wound in his hand as both men tussled.
The fight was then reportedly broken up by the victim’s female companion while Finn immediately fled the scene.
Responding police were not able to find the suspect who was not in his house following the incident.
According to police, the victim intends to pursue filing an attempted murder charge against the American. (WM)
