‘Drug dealer’ nabbed in Cortes

A newly identified drug suspect in the town of Cortes was arrested in an anti-narcotics operation on Thursday, police said.

Authorities identified suspect as James Cano, a 29-year-old resident of Barangay Dela Paz in the said town.

In a report, police said that Cano was spotted selling shabu near his residence prompting police to set up a drug buy-bust operation.

The suspect was then allegedly caught in the act of selling shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.

Upon the suspect’s arrest, police found in his possession more suspected shabu which werereportedly kept inside a matchbox.

According to Cortes acting police chief SPO4 Joseu Lungog, the suspect was not listed in their drug watch list as he is a newly known drug personality in the town.

Cano is now detained at the Cortes lock-up jail while authorities prepare to file drug charges against him. (WM)
