8th most wanted in Eastern Samar falls in Tagbilaran

The eighth most wanted fugitive in Eastern Samar was arrested by police in Tagbilaran City on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that the suspect, identified as Ronnie Rebay, a 35-year-old native of Barangay Dao, Oras in Eastern Samar, is facing a murder case filed in San Policarpio of said province.

Rebay has been living and working at the Sumampong Lumber Supply compound in Barangay Dampas in Tagbilaran City prior to his arrest, authorities said.

In a report, police indicated that the Tagbilaran City police led by Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor carried out the “Oplan Tracker Operation” against the suspect at around 1:45 p.m.

The operation against Rebay whose name is listed in the police’s watch list of wanted personalities was launched after authorities received reports that the suspect has been hiding in the city.

Regidor made the arrest against the suspect bearing a warrant issued by Judge Juliana Adalim, presideng judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 5 in Oras, Eastern Samar.

The said arrest warrant dated December 23, 2008 was issued for a murder case.

Rebay is now detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail. (wm)
