A 45-year-old security guard was shot Wednesday evening by another security guard who was allegedly drunk while on duty in Tagbilaran City.

The victim, identified as Cesar Payales, a member of the Provincial Security Force tasked to guard the Carlos P. Garcia Park, was reportedly shot in the left ear.

According to Payales, he was conducting a patrol of the park vicinity when Paulo Fuego who was on duty as a guard of the Department of Education office invited him for a drink.

Fuego got drunk and drew his .38 caliber pistol and twirled it with his hand, said Payales.

The suspect then allegedly pointed the gun right beside Payales’ face and pulled the trigger hitting him in the ear.

This was immediately after Payales said to Fuego “dili tingali na mo boto.”

Fuego immediately fled the area right after the shooting incident while Payales sought medical assistance for his wound.

Authorities have yet to arrest Fuego while the Tagbilaran City police’s investigation section has launched a follow-up probe on the incident. (WM)
