‘Half-naked’ alleged robber-pusher yields grenade, gun, ‘shabu’

An alleged “notorious” robber and drug dealer was caught by Tagbilaran City police in possession of a pistol, grenade and sachets of suspected shabu on Monday night.

Suspect Buenieval “Gonggong” Torres, 29, of Barangay Poblacion in Tagbilaran City was arrested by police for resistance and disobedience to a person in authority at 10:55 p.m.

In a report, police said that Torres was “half-naked” and was carrying a .38 revolver pistol near his residence prompting authorities to respond.

Police officers led by Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor accosted the shirtless suspect, but he allegedly tried to escape.

The police then took Torres into custody allegedly finding in his possession a grenade and six packets of shabu.


According to authorities, the seized drugs were estimated to be worth P11,800.

Torres is now detained in the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail pending the filing of charges against him.

According to police, he will be charged for illegal possession of a firearm and an explosive and possession of illegal drugs. (Weli Maestrado)
