Boholanos 2nd, 3rd in Licensure Examination for Teachers

Two Boholanos from a Bohol-based university ranked second and third in the elementary and secondary levels, respectively, of the Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET), based on exam results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Monday.

Rey Soreno Aranas garnered an 88.6 percent rating earning him the second rank for the elementary level while Raymart Sevilla ranked third for the secondary level with a 92.4 percent rating.

Both top-performing LET passers graduated from the Bohol Island State University (BISU) in Tagbilaran City.

Aranas shared the second place with Dana Kaye Fabialla of Romblon State University, Jonathan Ansing Garcia of Capiz State University and Anthony Pepito Geromo of the Cebu Technological University.

They topped 21,193 other passers for the secondary level.

Meanwhile, Sevilla scored a higher rating than 49,624 other passers of the LET for secondary level teachers.

According to the PRC, a total of 80,509 took the exam for elementary level and 107,020 for secondary.


The University of Santo Tomas (UST) was ranked as the top-performing university for the elementary LET with a 93.81 percent passing rate.

For the secondary level, University of the Philippines Los Baños was ranked first with 98.33 percent passing rate, followed by UST. (R. Tutas)
