A man facing an illegal drug charge was arrested by local and regional police units in Dauis on Wednesday.
According to Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor of the Tagbilaran police, the suspect went in hiding at San Isidro in Dauis after he was charged before a Lapu-Lapu City court for drug possession.
He identified the suspect as Artemio “Art” Cusi, 57, of Sto. Nino, Banilad in Cebu City.
Police arrested Cusi bearing an alias arrest warrant issued by Judge Victor Teves, presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 54 in Lapu-Lapu City.
Cusi was charged for possession of violating Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drug Act series of 2002.
Teves set a bail of P200,000 for Cusi’s temporary liberty.
However, the suspect has yet to post bail and remains under the custody of the Tagbilaran City police. (wm)
