A 19-year-old female band vocalist was allegedly groped on stage by a drunk customer inside a bar and restaurant in Tagbilaran City early on Sunday.
According to police, suspect Roden Ovongan, 23, went up the stage of Planet d (Doy’s Restaurant) along Borja Street and “maliciously” touched parts of the victim’s body.
Authorities identified the victim as Marianie Seanias, a resident of Loon town.
Police said that the band’s drummer, Nino Balabag, 32, reprimanded the suspect and told him to go back to his seat.
Ovogan sat down but he and his companion, one Nino Jotojot, 23, of Barangay Mayacabac, Dauis accosted Balabag after the band’s final set and beat him up.
This led to a commotion prompting Tagbilaran City police to deploy members of the Special Weapons and Tactics unit to the restaurant.
According to authorities, Balabag sustained bruises and cuts all over his body.
Meanwhile, Ovogan and Jotojot were taken into police custody.
Physical injury and acts of lasciviousness charges will be filed accordingly against the two suspects, police said. (wm)
