A woman lost P106,000 in cash to an unidentified burglar who broke into her residence in Baclayon on Friday.

Lize Suse, 33, of Barangay Taguihon reported the burglary to police after she discovered that the cash was missing from where she hid it inside her room.

Suse told police that the suspect may have broken into the house through the ceiling.

Based on police investigation, the house was left unattended from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the day of the burglary.

The burglar only took the cash leaving behind other valuables such as jewelry and gadgets inside the room.

According to Baclayon police chief Sr. Insp. Raymond Halasan, they invited a 14-year-old boy for questioning after neighbors of the victim suspected that he was the culprit.

The boy reportedly is a noted thief in the village.

However, Halasan said that the boy was not tagged as a suspect in the burglary.

There was no substantial evidence implicating the boy in the crime, he added.

The minor was not taken into police custody while investigators continued their probe on the case. (Allen Dodyora)
