A former seaman who previously surrendered under the police’s anti-drug campaign Oplan Tokhang was shot dead in broad daylight by motorcycle-riding assailants who rode in tandem in Tubigon town on Saturday afternoon, police said.

SPO1 Ernesto Cascallas of the Tubigon Police Station told dyRD Balita that investigators are looking into multiple motives behind the killing of the victim, Tubigon resident Hector Reyes.

Reyes was a self-confessed drug user and was involved in illegal gambling, said Cascallas.

Authorities also noted that the victim had recently sold a lot worth P2 million without going into details on the deal and possible conflict behind the sale.
