One of two unidentified men on board a motorcycle opened fire at the house of provincial prosecutor Macario Delusa in Tagbilaran City on Saturday night.
No one was injured during the gun attack as the bullets hit the concrete fence of Delusa’s home in Barangay Manga.
According to SPO2 Agosto Cesario Sumaylo, Delusa and his family were attending mass and no one was home during the incident which transpired at 8:55 p.m.
The suspect shot at least three times at Delusa’s house and fired a single shot at the house of his sister, Mariana Amoncio, located right across the provincial prosecutor’s house based on statements from witnesses.
Police found three spent shells from a .45 pistol near Delusa’s house and one spent shell in front of the Amoncio residence.
Delusa told police that Amoncio’s husband is believed to be a police asset.
The provincial prosecutor also noted that the gun attack may have been carried out to threaten them.
Delusa said that he has been active in going after illegal drug activities particularly around their neighborhood in Barangay Manga, possibly drawing the ire of the suspects.
Meanwhile, police continued their investigation on the case to establish a motive and identify the suspects behind the attack. (W. Maestrado)
