A drug suspect considered as a high value target (HVT) in the Bohol Provincial Police Office’s (BPPO) anti-narcotics campaign was arrested in Tagbilaran CIty on Thursday night.
The BPPO’s Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) identified the suspect as Edwin Octura, 31, a resident of Barangay San Isidro in Tagbilaran and the second provincial level HVT to be arrested this week.
According to PIB chief Sr. Insp. Jojit Mananquil, Octura was operating outside of Tagbilaran City including nearby towns and even the province of Cebu.
The PIB had been following and monitoring Octura’s movements before he was collared and allegedly caught in possession of shabu worth P210,000.
Octura was arrested through a PIB-led buy bust operation wherein he allegedly sold shabu worth P5,000 to an undercover cop.
He is now under the custody of the BPPO and is detained at Camp Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City pending the filing of drug charges against him.
Meanwhile, Lloyd Balagulan, also a provincial level HVT, has been charged with possession and sale of illegal drugs.
Balagulan, 28, of Barangay Manga in Tagbilaran, was arrested on Tuesday night also by operatives of the PIB led by Mananquil.
He was allegedly caught in possession of shabu worth P195,000.
His illegal drug operations reached the towns of Cortes, Tubigon and Inabanga, Mananquil said. (WM)
