The victim was reportedly still wearing her uniform when she was stabbed to death.

Based on police investigation, other tenants at Cabataña’s boarding house heard a woman crying from inside her room prior to the discovery of her lifeless body.

In a statement, the Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine said that Cabataña was one of the college’s top students.

“In the event of an untimely loss as one family, yesterday, MHAM lost a top student who, in one month’s time, will be marching along the processional isle and be conferred as DR. AMY THERESE G. CABATAÑA,” the college stated in its Facebook page.

“To you, our dearest MHAM maven-to-be, no one deserves to die the way you did but God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked,” it added.
