A Valencia elementary school teacher is now in hot water after parents of one of her students accused her of physically abusing their child.

The Department of Education (DepEd) in Bohol will be investigating Lagtang Elementary School teacher Liza Baleon, 28, after a 10-year-old boy complained that she scraped his face with her fingernails and punched him in class.

According to Desiderio Deligero of DepEd Bohol, they will summon Baleon and will be consulting the department’s legal counsel on possible sanctions against the teacher if found guilty.

PO3 Susana Madula of the Valencia police Women and Children’s Protection Desk said based on the student’s testimony that Baleon was irked when she saw the boy writing on his legs and arms using a ballpen.

She reportedly called the attention of the boy who in turn back talked.

“Gi-ingnan sa suspek nga maestra ‘nganong nag-suwat-suwat man ka sa imong kamot OA ra kaayo ka’ ug gitubag usab sa biktima ang maestra nga “labaw pod kang OA” usa ang hitabo,” said Madula.

Prior to the incident, Baleon was reportedly already irritated after another student accidentally stepped on her foot.

The victim’s parents have already filed a report at the Valencia Police Station but they have not yet decided whether or not they will be filing a case against Baleon.

“Murag di man kay gusto ra sila makig atubang sa maestra, pero sa lunes anha napod mahibaw-an inig human atubang kung mo file ba sila ug kaso,” said Madula. (A. Doydora)
