Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco, Jr. on Thursday denounced Governor Edgar Chatto, Rep. Art Yap and Rep. Rene Relampagos for being “opportunists,” accusing them of aligning themselves with the administration party for personal gain.

Kay sila, didto man sila sa kampo ni Mar Roxas,” said Evasco over station dyRD. “Ug kini si Yap, ga-lagari ni. Gikan kang Mar Roxas, adto napud ni Grace Poe. Kining klaseha sa politiko opurtunista ni.”

Evasco called out the longtime government officials for having shifted their support from one President to another over the course of their political careers.

Evasco, whose name has been floated as among possible gubernatorial candidates for next year’s midterm polls, maintained that he has no plans of running for office, even after his tirade against Yap and Relampagos who are also possible candidates for the gubernatorial race.

Chatto is on his last term as governor.

The three officials have yet to issue statements regarding Evasco’s accusation against them.

For his part, Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio II said that he was unaware of what Evasco meant in calling Chatto, Relampagos and Yap opportunists.

Kanang maka-himo ka og development sa usa ka dapit sa congressional district ba kaha or sa imong probinsya, di man siguro an oportunista,” said Damalaerio.

He said that the Chatto administration brought progress to the province of Bohol, noting advancements in infrastructure.

“Og dako ka na official sa usa ka probinsya nga nakita nimo nga dako ka kaayo og impluwensya, dako ka kaayo og authority above sa mga local officials unya wa kay gihimo na makasulbad sa mga problema sa mga taw dinhi, wa ka kita sa opportunity nga asa ka maka-tabang,” said Damalerio without elaborating on who he was pertaining to.
