A former barangay captain and his companion were arrested in Maribojoc for allegedly selling illegal drugs on Thursday night.
Randy Hellicania, 42, a former baranagay captain in Aliguay, Maribojoc and one Orencio Roa, 48, were apprehended in a drug buy-bust operation in the said village.
According to Maribojoc Police Station chief Sr. Insp. Jesus Daplin, intelligence police operatives spotted Hellicania and Roa as they sold illegal drugs on board a multicab prior to the arrest.
Police then set up the buy-bust operation.
Hellicania and Roa allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover police officer leading to their immediate arrest.
Police said that they found four more packets of shabu with an estimated street value of P5,000 from the alleged drug dealers.
Both men were detained at the Maribojoc police lock-up jail pending the filing of charges against them for sale and possession of illegal drugs. (wm)
