Police investigators have found out the identity of an individual tagged as a “person of interest” in the killing of the husband of Clarin town Vice Mayor Velden Aparicio, said Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) director Sr. Supt. Angeles Geñorga, Jr.
Geñorga on Thursday told dyRD Balita in a text message that the person of interest is based in Bohol, but did not name the individual and reveal further details.
“May person of interest na po. Di pa lang po mailabas ang pangalan sa ngayon pending case build up,” Geñorga said. “Taga Bohol lang. Can’t reveal other details muna.”
Ricardo “Ricap” Aparacio was shot dead inside his resort, 4Js Inland Resort, in Barangay Bacani, Clarin on September 2, 2018.
He was talking with one Jonita Zafra when the gunman suddenly approached and shot him.
Based on initial police investigation, the male assailant was wearing a blue jacket with hood, eyeglasses, was around 5’5 tall and aged 20 to 25.
Aparicio was allegedly involved as financier of illegal Swertres in Clarin and other towns of the province.
Police have earlier noted that they were looking into Aparicio’s involvement in illegal gambling and politics as possible motive behind the murder.
Aparicio was also rumored to run as mayor in the 2019 elections. (RT)
