Candidates vying for the province’s top government posts are set to join a series of election fora on days leading to the May polls for them to put across their respective platforms.

The first edition, which is expected to be joined by reelectionist Second District Rep. Aris Aumentado, his opponent Board Member Agapito Avenido and First District congressional candidate Governor Edgar Chatto, will be held at the University of Bohol gymnasium at 1:30 p.m on Monday.

Chatto’s opponent, former Tagbilaran City mayor Dan Lim sent word through ABAKA (Alyansang Bol-anon para sa Kausaban) head Norris Oculam that he will not be attending the forum.

The forum series, organized by the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), will be held during Mondays in April.

BCCI said that it organized the election forum to give the Bohol electorate an opportunity to assess candidates based on their stand on issues and platform of governance.

According to the organizers, Third District congressional candidates will have their turn on April 15, 1:30 p.m. at the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium.

Four individuals are vying for the legislative seat in the district. Padayon Bol-anon is fielding retired judge Caloy Fernando, while Tinuod nga Bol-anon is fielding the rest of the three candidates: Vice-Gov. Dionisio Balite, Board Member Alexie Tutor and former Carmen mayor Che Toribio-Delos Reyes.

Meanwhile, gubernatorial candidates were invited to join the last forum scheduled at 9 a.m. on April 22.

Five candidates are running for the province’s top post, Deputy Speaker Arthur Yap, former Cabinet secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr., actor-comedian Roberto Reyes,  Hercules Castillo and Concepcion Flores.
