The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bohol reminded qualified local absentee voters that their three-day allocated period for casting their ballots will be from April 29 to May 1.

According to Bohol Comelec Election Assistant II Malou Cempron, the local absentee voting will be held in Tagbilaran City, Loon and Alicia from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the three days.

Cempron said that only those who pre-applied are allowed to vote during the period.

Those qualified to apply are members of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, media, Comelec, and other government employees who have official election-related work on May 13.

However, they will only be able to vote for senatorial candidates and party-list representatives.

According to Atty. Rafael Montoya of the Tagbilaran Comelec, the local absentee voting in the city will be conducted at the Bohol Provincial Police Office headquarters in Camp Francisco Dagohoy.

Vote counting machines will not be used during the exercise.

Ballots of local absentee voters will be collected and sealed in envelopes and sent to the Comelec head office in Metro Manila where these will be counted. (RT)
