A man was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs inside the Islamic Center in Tagbilaran City while his suspected buyer was also taken into police custody on Thursday night.

Panondi Mamao, 44, a resident of the Islamic Center in Barangay Poblacion III, was apprehended along with one Casanoding Alangade, 21, of Muslim Village in Barangay Taloto through a drug buy-bust operation inside the Islamic Center compound.

Police said that Mamao was spotted selling illegal drugs near the compound prompting police to set the operation.

Mamao sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop resulting in his arrest, authorities said.

Alangade who was allegedly buying drugs from Mamao was also apprehended.

According to police, they a total of six grams of shabu from both men.

The seized drugs were estimated to be worth P40,800.

Both men remained under the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station. Mamao is set to be charged with sale and possession of illegal drugs while Alangade will only face a possession case. (wm)
