Bohol Comelec urges candidates, supporters to witness VCM sealing, testing

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is inviting the public particularly candidates and their supporters to witness the final testing and sealing of vote counting machines (VCM) on Friday.

Malou Cempron, Election Assistant II of the Provincial Comelec office, said that the exercise is open for viewing to the public.

All of the 1,449 VCMs in Bohol will be tested and sealed on Friday ahead of the elections on May 13, Cempron added.

The testing and sealing will be conducted at the polling centers located in Tagbilaran City and the province’s towns.

According to Cempron, election paraphernalia including the VCMs are now under the custody of the Comelec and city and municipal treasurer’s offices and are ready to be distributed to the polling centers on Monday.

The Philippine National Police has been tasked to provide tight security for the election materials.

Earlier, the Comelec said that it was completely ready for the conduct of the elections in Bohol which are expected to draw a maximum of 898,682 registered voters. (r)
