2 hurt in tricycle-car collision in Ubay

A man and his live-in partner were injured after their tricycle was rammed from behind by an MPV along a national highway in San Francisco, Ubay on Saturday night.

According to Staff Sgt. Ramonito Cabarrubias, the tricycle driven by one Luciano Casing, 61, had no functioning taillight while traversing the dimly-lit road from Alicia to San Pascual, Ubay.

“Ang naay suga headlight hinay kaayo unya iyang luyo, taillight wala [sa tricycle],” said Cabarrubias. “Ang estorya sa nakabangga, wa kuno siya kabantay.”

Luciano and his live-in partner, Victoria Puyang, both residents of Alicia, were rushed to the Don Emilio Del Valle Hospital in Ubay.

Cabrrubias said that Luciano had a minor injury while Puyang suffered more severe injuries and was referred to a hospital in Tagbilaran City.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Suzuki Ertiga which slammed into the motorcycle was identified as Joseph Auza, 35, of Talibon.

Auza was uninjured but his vehicle was severely damaged.

“Guba iyang atubangan kay center man g’yud siya nabump, wa siguro to siya kabantay kay ngitngit man to agtong lugara,” said Cabarrubias.
