The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) is set to launch a five-day agriculture fair on July 23, as one of the highlights of the Sandugo Festival.

Sandugo Agri-Fair, an annual activity which showcases agricultural products from across the province, will be held at the Tagbilaran City Hall/Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center (BAPC) Grounds in Barangay Dao.

Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry Pamugas said the fair will feature various contests such as Best Booth, Pinaka Cacao pods, Imelda Papin Voice Alike, Renz Verano Voice Alike, bahalina drinking, chili eating, rice pounding and winnowing, coconut dehusking and grating, bangus deboning, and tilapia cleaning and filleting.

The fair will kick off at 8 a.m. on July 23 with a motorcade from the New Bohol Capitol Building to the event’s venue where the opening program led by newly installed Governor Arthur Yap will follow.

Exhibitors are given two days to put up and design their booths and farm machinery displays at the venue on July 21 and 22 while the egress will be on July 27 and 28.

Pamugas emphasized that contestants must be from local government units.

He said that the event’s working committees have already started preparations for the event.

Sandugo Argi-Fair 2019 will be the first under the administration of Yap who was sworn into office last Sunday.

Yap, who was Agriculture Secretary under former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, campaigned with a clear message of focusing on the province’s agriculture sector. (Atoy Cosap)
