Three men were arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl, who got pregnant after the incident in 2018, at a far-flung village in Alicia town.

Samuel Amoguis, 29, and Jomar Asas, 19, were apprehended on Thursday last week by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Jennifer Chavez-Marcos of the Regional Trial Court Branch 51 in Carmen, said Master Sgt. Reynaldo Galorio of the Alicia Police Station.

The victim’s boyfriend, also a minor, was among those alleged of the crime which allegedly transpired at Barangay Napo, Alicia in October 2018, but he was instead turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Asas, Amoguis, the victim and her boyfriend were in a drinking session during the alleged incident, said Galorio.

According to Galorio, the victim along with her guardian filed a complaint against the three suspects after finding out that she was pregnant, months after the alleged rape.

“Mi-ari sila sa WCPD nangutana unsay ilang angay buhaton. Gikuhaan og affidavit ang maong bata, unya gisaysay sa bata ang pangahitabo ‘nya diha g’yud kunoy rape na nahitabo,” he said.

The victim gave birth sometime in July this year.

Galorio however said that prior to the filing of the case, the suspects posted on social media that those who have had intercourse with the victim acquired a sexually transmitted infection from her.

“Diha toy post-post sa Facebook na mura’g gi paka-uwawan, mi-post ang mga laki sa ilang side na na-tulo ang naggamit ana,” said Galorio, noting that the public humiliation may have drawn the ire of the victim and her family.

Asas and Amoguis remained detained at the Alicia Police Station.  (A. Doydora with C. Remolador)
