Two men were killed after their motorcycle crashed along a national road in Batuan town.
The motorcycle passenger, Marcelo Dampog, 45, of Barangay Santa Cruz, Batuan died on the spot while the driver, Leppy Amolo, 39, of the same village succumbed to his injuries at the Congressman Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen, said Senior Master Sgt. Eulogio Casilac of the Batuan Police Station.
According to Casilac, Amolo lost control of the vehicle in Barangay Poblacion after they passed on a sand stockpile at the side of the road at around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Amolo said that based on their initial probe both men came from a drinking session at a variety store. The victims were heading home when they crashed.
Authorities also noted that both men were not wearing helmets during the incident and were under the influence of alcohol. (A. Doydora)
