A drug offender recently released from jail was again arrested by police for a drug charge in Tagbilaran City on Tuesday night.
In a report, police said that Alger Baa, 37, of Barangay Dampas in the city, was caught in possession of shabu worth P54,000 during a drug buy-bust operation near his residence in the said village.
Baa was immediately arrested by intelligence officers of the Tagbilaran police after he allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer.
According to authorities, Baa was placed under surveillance for around two weeks before he was spotted peddling shabu on Tuesday night, prompting police to set the operation in motion.
Baa who was released from jail on May 7 this year after entering into a plea bargaining agreement was reportedly an associate of alleged big-time pusher Charlie Bantawig who was collared by police last week.
He also allegedly has an inmate contact at the Bohol District Jail who arranged the delivery of drug supply to him.
Baa is now under the custody of the Tagbilaran City Police Station pending the filing of illegal drug charges against him. (WM)
