Bohol’s Glyssa Perez named Miss Tourism Philippines 2019

Glyssa Perez who represented Bohol for the second time in Miss World Philippines was crowned Miss Tourism Philippines during the pageant’s coronation night at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City On Sunday.

Perez’ crown was among six titles up for grabs for runner-up winners. She was also accorded the “Beauty With A Purpose” award.

Meanwhile, model Michelle Dee was named Miss World Philippines 2019.

Other winners were Katrina Llegado (Miss Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas), Kelley Day (Miss Eco Philippines), Isabelle de Leon (Miss Multinational Philippines), Vanessa Mae Walters (Miss Eco Teen Philippines), Shannon Kerver (1st Princess) and Casie Banks (2nd Princess).

Perez, 24, who traces her roots to Danao, Bohol was born and raised in Australia by Filipino parents Godofredo Perez and Yollie Perez, who are natives of Bulacan and Danao, respectively.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce majoring in finance in Sydney, Australia.

Glyssa, a known breast cancer awareness advocate, competed in Miss World Philippines 2017 and was named First Princess.

She was crowned Miss Bohol in 2016 representing the town of Danao.   

Other titles she held over the past decade are the following, Miss Woodcroft 2011, Miss WOW Blacktown 2012, Miss WOW Charity 2012, Miss Philippines-Australia 2014, Miss JCI Visayas 2016 and Miss JCI Philippines 2016. (RT)
