A motorela driver turned over to the Jagna Police Station a sling bag which contained 40 grams of suspected shabu immediately after allegedly finding it in a remote and forested area in Jagna town.

The driver whose identity was withheld by authorities chanced upon the sling bag while he urinated in a secluded area in Barangay Cantagay in Jagna at past 11 a.m. on Friday.

According to Senior Staff Sgt. Jason Laurden, the bag contained 11 medium-sized packets of shabu which were estimated to be worth P275,000 based on the value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.

“Naay mahogany-an dapit padung dagat, didto gitungtong sa bato. Aksidente ra to niya nakit-an kay ka-ihion siya [driver],” Laurden said.

The bag did not contain any other materials other than the suspected shabu.

Authorities believed that the drug stash may have been hidden by its owner due to multiple checkpoints established by the police in the past week.

“Adtong higayona, nag-conduct mi og checkpoint buntag ug gabii basin nahadlok, gibilin,” said Laurden.

The drug stash is now under the custody of the Jagna Police Station and set to be turned over to the police’s crime laboratory for analysis. (A. Doydora)
