A 24-year-old woman lost two smartphones and other valuable items to a lone male suspect who held her at gunpoint in a street robbery along B. Inting Street in Tagbilaran City on Thursday night.
Authorities identified the victim as Sheiza Marie Gallego, a bank teller for a BDO branch in the city and a native of Barangay Panaytayon in Tubigon.
According to Gallego, she was walking towards her boarding house at around 7:30 p.m. when the still unidentified suspect suddenly approached her from behind.
The suspect then allegedly grabbed her shoulder bag which contained a Samsung J7 Prime phone, an IPhone 6, credit card, savings card, bank book and a voter’s identification card.
Gallego said that she attempted to stop the robber but he pulled out his pistol and pointed it at her head.
She immediately let go of her bag out of fear while the suspect fled on board a motorcycle.
The Tagbilaran City police’s theft and robbery section has been tasked to conduct a follow-up investigation on the case. (Weli Maestrado)
