The Talibon police team took its turn in the anti-illegal drugs drive score with the arrest of three alleged drug personalities in two successive operations.
Talibon chief of police, PSInsp. Eduard Sanchez, sent the Detective Beat Patrollers comprising the Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (MAIDSOTG) members—SPO2 Crisanto Bonghanoy Jr., SPO2 Jose Bongator, SPO1 Margarito Cagoco Jr., PO3 Bernabe Ortega, PO3 Wendell Evardo, PO2 Renante Mabia, PO1 Garry Gulle, PO1 Fritz Subrio, PO1 Arnel Petalcorin, PO1 Martin Gonato and PO1 Roy Benjie Garcia—to implement search warrants issued by Judge Irma Zita V. Masamayor of RTC-Branch 52.
At around 5:30 a.m. yesterday, the team arrived at the backyard of the first subject, Danny Torreon, in Barangay Guindacpan, Talibon.
From outside, the team leader called on Torreon and stated their intention to implement a search warrant against him, but the latter did not heed.
This prompted the team to forcibly open the door, especially after hearing some unusual noise inside.
They cornered Torreon inside and started the search inside the house at around 6:00 a.m. just as Barangay Captain Maximo Otarra Jr. and Barangay Kagawad Jerry Noval arrived, along with DYZD’s Wenny Reyes to witness the operation.
The raiding team confiscated 18 small sachets of shabu placed inside a rectangular plastic box, three small open plastic sachets with suspected shabu residue, 30 small open plastic sachets believed to be intended for repacking shabut, two strips of aluminum tin foil believed to be intended for sniffing shabu, three lighters, three needles believed to have been used as cracker, two forceps believed to have been used as sealer, a digital weighing scale, two improvised funnel made of plastic straw with suspected shabu residue, and a pair of scissors.
Torreon, 51 years old, was then detained while waiting for proper charges to be filed against him.
At around 10 p.m. on February 14, the Detective Beat Patrollers swooped down a residence in Poblacion area for another raid against two suspected drug runners, Celso Gerali who is 48 years old and his 25-year-old son, Cllint.
The police team introduced themselves and informed those inside the house that they were there to implement search warrants against the two Geralis.
At that moment, they saw a male person from a distance, in the act of leaving the vicinity.
They pursued the man and later identified him as Clint Gerali.
The chief of police then contacted Barangay Kagawad Orson Evangelista and Barangay Kagawad Antonio Llup and DYZD’s Wenny Reyes to witness the operation.
Items seized during the search inside the nipa hut included two small sachets of shabu, two opened small sachets with suspected shabu residue, two small opened plastic sachets used for repacking, several strips of aluminum tin foil believed to be intended as improvised burner, two strips of aluminum tin foil used as tooter, two opened plastic sachets with suspected shabu residue, and two lighters.
Inside the house, the police team recovered three crumpled strips of aluminum tin foil with suspected shabu residue, two pieces of plastic straw used as improvised funnel, four lighters, a pair of scissors, and an improvised clip.
