Thousands of youth leaders across the country and prominent international leaders from Asia will gather here for the 4th International Youth Assembly (IYA), a three-day event.
Members of the World-Collegiate Association for the Research of the Principles (W-CARP) and Youth Federation for World Peace-Philippines (YFWP), in partnership with the Women’s Federation for World Peace-Philippines (WFWP), will hold the event on September 23-25 at Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City under the theme, “Peace-loving Global Citizens: Youth as Agents of Change Towards a World of Sustainable Peaceâ€.
IYA is an international gathering of youth leaders, students, and young professionals who are working together regardless of race, religion, and culture to commemorate the UN International Day of Peace (September 21).
The activity is aimed to educate and mobilize our young citizens of the world as agents of peaceful change- -empowering their capacities, highlighting their roles as stakeholders and partners to achieve sustainable development for our country.
The three-day gathering intends to address the current challenges that young people encounter everyday such as poverty, drug abuse, immorality, corruption, and climate change which post major obstacles towards sustainable development.
WCARP, YFWP and WFWP are international organizations which are at the forefront of character and leadership education for women, students and young professionals through leadership training programs and service projects.
Discussion during the assembly will focus on strengthening the ideals of peace among young people and future leaders through the universal peace principles, heart-based leadership paradigm, introducing the values of pure love and patriotism as key elements needed to achieve development and sustainable peace.
The three-day gathering will be highlighted by Pure Love Rally at Plaza Rizal, march along CPG Ave., culminating at the Bohol Cultural Center to be attended by thousands of youth leaders from across the country and prominent international leaders from Asia who will celebrate their commitment to pioneer a new youth movement to promote Pure Love and Patriotism as a crucial values of future leaders.
There will also be recognition of youth leaders who have an impact in their communities through their exemplary character and peace initiatives through the Collegiate and Youth Ambassadors of Peace Awards.
