A new fire chief has been assigned to head the Bureau of Fire Protection in Tagbilaran City following a reshuffling of BFP personnel in Central Visayas.

Acting Tagbilaran City fire chief Senior Insp. Raul Bustalino was formally replaced by former Talisay fire marshal Chief Insp. Randy Mendaros on Monday.

Bustalino has been reassigned and tasked to work under the office of BFP-7 director Senior Supt. Samuel Tadeo.

According to Bustalino, he has accepted his new orders and is ready to take on the new challenge as he leaves Bohol after a months-long stint.

The ceremony for new fire marshals taking over new assignments led by Tadeo was held on Monday at the regional headquarters of the BFP in Cebu City.

Meanwhile, other personnel were also given new assignments during the ceremony including Insp. Carmelito Dionela who was promoted to head the Consolacion BFP in Cebu and Senior Insp. Josephus Alburo who was transferred from the BFP-7 office to lead the Mandaue fire station.

The Mandaue fire station leadership was vacated by Senior Insp. Joel Abarquez who replaced Mendaros as Talisay fire chief. (Rey Tutas)
