Vice President Leni Robredo will be visiting Bohol next week to meet with fishermen in two towns of the first district, said an official of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in Bohol.
According to CDA administrator Benjie Oliva, Robredo will arrive on Thursday, March 2 to launch livelihood projects.
Robredo is also set to meet with officials in the agriculture and fisheries sectors prior to a ceremony wherein the vice president will turn over fishing boats to residents in Maribojoc and Panglao.
Oliva said that more than 20 pumpboats will be given to fishermen in Maribojoc while those in Panglao will receive ten.
Robredo’s visit in Maribojoc was confirmed by town Mayor Gomersindo Arocha who said that Robredo will lead the turnover of the fishing boats to his constituents.
Projects for fishermen are being expanded by Robredo to boost the agriculture sector particularly the coconut farming and fishing industries which have not been given priority attention by the government, said Oliva. (Rey Tutas)
